в Астане открывается офис американской компании, которая будет осваивать крупное месторождение твердых полезных ископаемых (открытый способ добычи, технология близкая к меди). Компания сейчас находится на стадии регистрации офиса, но уже работают два американца (CEO and Operational manager). Они говорят только на английском! Это одна из ключевых, топ позиций местного персонала. Бюджет зарплаты пока формируется из ожиданий кандидатов, озвученных на интервью (т.е. будет взята МЕДИАНА). Офис компании находится на Левом берегу АСТАНЫ, проспект Туран. 

 

POSITION INFORMATION:

• Position Title: combination of Mine Engineering Lead and Chief Geologist roles named as Mine Technical Services Lead position, at least for the study phase of the project

• Work Location: WFH & Engineering Offices initially, transitioning to Astana and project site in Karaganda Region, Republic of Kazakhstan

• Area of Responsibility: Mine Planning, Mine Design, Production Strategy, Reserve Conversion, Statutory Mine Management Readiness and Future Mine Operations Leadership for the project Development

 

 

Требования:

• 15+ years’ experience in mine planning and mine design for open pit mining operations;
• Demonstrated experience supporting feasibility studies and project development programs;
• Strong experience in pit optimisation, mine scheduling and production planning;
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent;
• Strong understanding of mining economics and cost modelling;
• Must hold, or be capable of obtaining, the statutory certifications required for mine management in Kazakhstan or equivalent mining jurisdictions;
• Experience with tungsten, polymetallic or similar hard-rock deposits;
• Experience transitioning projects from development into operations;
• Experience working within Owner’s Teams on major mining developments;
• Experience supporting EPC, EPCM or PMC delivery structures;
• Technical & Professional: Mine design, pit optimisation, mine planning economics, production scheduling and reserve conversion;
• Leadership & Behavioral: Structured decision making, cross-disciplinary collaboration, technical accountability and stakeholder alignment;
• Systems & Tools: Mine planning software (Whittle, MineSched, Datamine or equivalent), advanced Excel and technical reporting tools.

 

 

 

Обязанности:

• Develop and maintain mine design concepts and pit optimization models;
• Define mine production strategies including sequencing, stripping schedules and mining methods;
• Develop life-of-mine production schedules aligned with geological models and metallurgical processing capacity;
• Support conversion of Mineral Resources to Ore Reserves through appropriate mine planning and economic evaluation;
• Define mining cost models and operational assumptions required for DFS economic analysis;
• Coordinate mining engineering inputs across geological modelling, metallurgical studies and infrastructure planning;
• Manage mining engineering consultants and technical service providers supporting the project development studies;
• Identify mining risks and operational constraints including geotechnical, hydrogeological and operational considerations;
• Support preparation of mining sections of technical reports and feasibility study documentation;
• Provide mining engineering inputs to lender and Independent Engineer technical reviews;
• Ensure mine planning assumptions remain aligned with metallurgical recovery assumptions and project infrastructure capacity;
• Develop the mine operating philosophy and mining operational standards required for the future production phase;
• Establish operational readiness plans including development of mine operating procedures, equipment requirements and workforce structures;
• Ensure mine designs incorporate statutory safety requirements and regulatory compliance obligations applicable to mine operations in Kazakhstan;
• Prepare the operational organization framework required for mine start-up;
• Support development of long-term mine expansion opportunities and production growth strategies;
• Assist with permitting and regulatory submissions requiring mining engineering inputs;
• Provide technical input to project financing due diligence processes where required;
• Support development of operational readiness strategies leading into construction and commissioning phases.
